WA Lifetime Ewe Management and Sheep Industry Events Coordinator

Location:  Western Australia, location negotiable
Value range: $70,000 - $90,000 pa
Tenure:  Full time position, fixed term opportunity for 16 months

This full-time position will work with the Lifetime Ewe Management (LTEM) training program (delivered by Rural Industries Skills Training) and Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA) sheep program 'Sheep Industry Business Innovation' to promote, coordinate and lift participation in sheep management events across WA. It is an exciting opportunity join the RIST team and to work closely with all parts of the sheep industry to ensure that we maximise the opportunities for learning, sharing and applying existing and emerging knowledge to lift profitability in the sector.

The position will be based in regional WA with administration and mentoring support from RIST and DAFWA. The role will include;

Managing the recruitment activities for LTEM and SIBI including identifying and working with key collaborators who have strong networks in the sheep industry and are actively seeking participants in their areas.

Managing the public relations for LTEM in WA including developing promotional materials, media releases, identifying case studies in liaison with RIST and AWI.

Providing support to flagship events such as Sheep Updates, Walk the Chain workshops and residentials.

Be the key contact for SIBI with grower groups and other industry stakeholders within the state to facilitate successful events and training opportunities. This includes developing and delivering strategic feeder activities in collaboration with Grower groups. Effective local networks and local knowledge will be critical; 

It is expected that there will be work outside of office hours, particularly when contacting participants or potential participants and collaborators.

Requirements: 
Applicants will need to be an Australian citizen and have a valid Australian driver's licence and their own car.  Office space, administration and training will be provided as part of the package. Salary negotiable dependent on skills set and experience. 

Tenure:
Fixed term opportunity for 16 months, July 2017 to October 2018. Salary to be negotiated with successful applicant.
