Your local Agricultural College of excellence
THE dairy industry in Victoria can look to the future with confidence after it was announced that leading agricultural college, RIST, has been named as a preferred training provider by Dairy Australia under its DairyLearn education initiative.

RIST's alignment with Dairy Australia is further boosted by a landmark agreement reached this month between the training provider and Terang College, which will see its state-of-the-art Skill Centre utilised as the dairy training campus for RIST in the south.

"The campus has two ultra-modern classrooms fully equipped with technology to allow RIST to deliver its leading-edge courses linked to the current and future needs of the dairy industry," says RIST CEO Bill Hamill.

The Skills Centre will be utilised as RIST's southern Campus for training and students will be attending classes in the training centre from Tuesday to Friday each week. Bill Hamill said that 'the facility was centrally located with access to public transport which made it an ideal location for students involved in the dairy industry wishing to study agriculture.'

RIST has trained thousands of Victorian students for careers in the dairy and other agricultural industries over the last decade, "we have worked very closely with all levels of the industry, including its workforce, employers, service providers and research/development arms to build a fully comprehensive education and training profile from Certificate II through to the Diploma of Agriculture. In 2017 we added the Bachelor of Agriculture, in partnership with CQUniversity. We believe there is a strong future for a growing, resilient and dynamic dairy industry in Victoria," he says.

"RIST's focus on equipping students with the knowledge and knowhow needed to make a meaningful contribution to industry is paramount. Both of these initiatives will enhance the learning and employment outcomes for RIST students within the dairy industry and the region," he explains.
