Introduction to welding - short course

22 July (Four evening sessions include 22 July, 29 July, 5 August, 12 August) 2025, RIST Hamilton VIC

Get sparks flying with our introduction to welding short course! 

Across four, 2.5 hour sessions, participants learn ARC & MIG welding, safety procedures, welding techniques, equipment operation, quality control and inspection, and more. On completion of the course, take home your own welded bag trolley.

Must be aged 16 years and older.

Fees:

Operate a chainsaw - short course

Learn how to safely operate a chainsaw 

 

In this two-day course, students will undertake practical training in basic branch and limb trimming as well as sharpening and cleaning of a chainsaw. 

Participants must be aged 16 years and older.

Agricultural chemical users - short course

14 and 15 August 2025, RIST Hamilton VIC

Upskill your knowledge of legislation, safety and best practice when handling or applying chemicals with our agricultural chemical users short course (Agricultural Chemical Skill Set – AHCSS00074).

This accredited, two-day course, is delivered in a practical working environment with AusChem Victoria accredited Trainers.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants are issued with a Farm Chemical Users Certificate (valid for 5 years) and are eligible to apply for the Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).

Operate tractor & front end loader - short course

Monday 18 August, RIST Hamilton VIC 

Gain the knowledge and practical skills in operating a tractor and attachments such as forks, buckets & a slasher. 

This one-day course allows students to get hands-on with machinery, ensuring they are ready to safely operate a tractor in their workplace.

Participants must be aged 16 years and older.

Learn how to safely operate and maintain a side by side vehicle.

This one – day course gives students hands-on training to ensure they are ready to independently use a SSV  in their workplace.

Participants must be aged 16 years and older
