Lifetime Ewe Management

Set your Ewes up for Success

Undertaking RIST & AWI Lifetime Ewe Management course gives you the skills and knowledge to optimise your ewe flock potential. This nationally run course is ideal for a group of 5 – 7 participants who meet on-farm 6 times within 12 months. Lead by an experienced trainer, you will learn how to condition score, prepare ewes for joining, manage singles and twin-bearing ewes at different stages of their reproductive cycle, assess pasture & set targets.

Weaner for Profit

Optimise Weaner Potential

Weaners for Profit has been designed to follow the successful AWI & RIST Lifetime Ewe Management Course. This course assists farmers to analyse weaner performance, manage post-weaning, manage ewe lambs and hoggets during joining, early and late pregnancy as well as preparing hoggets for joining and reviewing ewe lamb performance.

Over 12 months (5 sessions) this course will following the same delivery structure as AWI & RIST’s Lifetime Ewe Management (LTEM) course. During each session, participants will visit each farm and conduct pasture assessments and hands-on sheep management training/weighing.

Heifers for Profit

Getting your Heifer Management Right

Heifers for Profit will give you the skills and confidence to manage your heifer’ nutrition to improve animal welfare increase future reproductive success, optimise stocking rates, and increase whole farm profitability. This course is ideal for a small group of 5 – 7 participants who are interested in learning new ways to find success on their farm. Your group will meet 6 times within 15 months. Lead by an experienced trainer you will learn the principles and practices of Heifers for Profit. These include; Getting heifers in-calf efficiently, managing pregnancy and achieving critical weights, transitioning the heifer into a cow – preparation for calving and re-breeding plus so much more.
