Certificate II in Wool Handling

Our Certificate II in Wool Handling is an entry level qualification into the Wool Industry. Under general supervision in one of our shearing / wool schools, students will learn how to carry out routine wool handling tasks, which include but are not limited to: wool pressing; board duties; penning sheep; observations & assisting in the preparation of the sheep for shearing and crutching.

Certificate III In Shearing

COURSE CODE: AHC32916

Expand on your shearing skills and knowledge

Shear sheep to a higher standard, increasing in quality and speed. The Certificate III in Shearing improves students understanding of technique for shearing, equipment, WHS and wool quality improvement. Upon completion of this course students will have gained the necessary skills and knowledge to comply with workplace procedures, maintain and service shearing handpieces as part of a shearing operation whilst also gaining skills to work in shearing sheds across the country.

Certificate IV In Wool Classing

COURSE CODE: AHC41316

Become a professional wool classer

Get hands-on practical experience in the Certificate IV in Wool Classing. Graduates of this course will be able to apply to AWEX (Australian Wool Exchange) to become a registered professional Wool Classer. The flexible learning environment will ensure students are equipped with the following skills and knowledge;

– Supervisory skills of the shearing team

– Carry out Code of Practice for the preparation of Australian Wool Clips

– Implement legislative requirements related to the shearing industry

– Prepare clips of a variety of wool types

– Monitor the quality assurance processes for a clip
