Last week’s Great South West Dairy Awards, Held in Warrnambool on May 16th, proved to be a fantastic event and opportunity to shine a light on and celebrate those in the South-West Victorian dairy industry who are excelling in the Industry!

Hosted by West Vic Dairy, The Awards aim to raise awareness about the vital role of the dairy industry in Western Victoria, showcase exemplary farming practices, uplift the spirits of both the industry and local communities, and facilitate networking and socialising among dairy professionals.
The event was also attended by RIST Certificate IV in Agriculture and Diploma of Agriculture Trainer, Melissa McDonald, Who is also a fourth generation Dairy farmer at Bessiebelle, Boldrewood Dairies.
Melissa was thrilled to support several past and present RIST Alumni who were award nominees and Award Recipients! In total there were five RIST alumni nominated for awards, as listed below;

⭐️ Chloe Brown – Runner up – Young Dairy Leader Award
⭐️Jason Kearney – Runner up – Natural Resource Sustainability Management Award
⭐️David Stewart – Nominee- Dairy Farm Business Management Award
🏆Kerrie-Leigh Hume – Winner – Employee Award
