Getting your Heifer Management Right
Course Overview:
Heifers for Profit will give you the skills and confidence to manage your heifer’ nutrition to improve animal welfare increase future reproductive success, optimise stocking rates, and increase whole farm profitability.
This course is ideal for a small group of 5 – 7 participants who are interested in learning new ways to find success on their farm. Your group will meet 6 times within 15 months.
Details:
Lead by an experienced trainer you will learn the principles and practices of Heifers for Profit. These include; Getting heifers in-calf efficiently, managing pregnancy and achieving critical weights, transitioning the heifer into a cow – preparation for calving and re-breeding plus so much more.
Heifers for Profit is a practical based course delivered on farm. We encourage you to contact like-minded neighbours and farmers in your local area to form a group, and a Trainer will come to you to deliver the HFP course.
Fees:
The Heifers for Profit program is valued at $2,500 + GST per participant.
Thanks to the support of Meat & Livestock Australia Profitable Grazing Systems, a $750 subsidy is available to eligible participants. To confirm your eligibility, please contact the National Program Manager.
