September 2 -9 marks Adult Learners Week on the Calendar. A week dedicated to raise awareness of the benefits of learning among adults in their local area, and to act as a reminder That; Whatever your age, background or previous educational history, there’s no use by date when it comes to learning!

The theme for Adult Learners Week 2024 is #TakeTheJourney. This week at RIST, we will be sharing stories of some of our very own Adult learners to inspire other adults of the transformative impact of adult learning.
To kick the week off, we encourage you to tune into hearing the story of Kerry – Leigh Hume who was announced as one of twelve Adult Learning Week Ambassadors!
Kerry is a Certificate IV in Agriculture Student with RIST who is balancing work as a manager at Aurora Dairies, as well as being a busy Mum.
Kerry will be speaking about her journey into adult education TONIGHT Monday September 2nd at 9.30pm on ABC Australia ABC 774 Melbourne Evening Program, so be sure to tune in!
In her own words, Kerry finds adult learning more relaxed and supportive compared to her school days. She describes the adult learning environment as nurturing and flexible, enhancing her literacy and skills.
