Boost Herd and Flock Productivity
MLA Subsidies Announced for RIST’s Heifers for Profit and Weaners for Profit Programs.
Producers can now access subsidised training through RIST’s Heifers for Profit and Weaners for Profit programs, thanks to support from Meat & Livestock Australia’s Profitable Grazing Systems (PGS) initiative.
Eligible participants can access a subsidy to help cover part of the program cost.
Heifers for Profit: $750 subsidy, reducing full program cost from $2,500 + GST per participant to $1,750.
Weaners for Profit: $735 subsidy, reducing full program cost from $2,450 + GST per participant to $ 1,715.
Heifers for Profit designed for cattle producers to maximise reproductive performance and herd profitability through expert guidance in nutrition, health, genetics and on-farm management.
Weaners for Profit designed for sheep producers to improve lamb growth, reduce post-weaning mortality and boost future ewe productivity through hands-on management and pasture assessment.
Natasha Wilkinson, RIST Manager of National Programs, said:
“We’re excited to partner with MLA to make these programs more accessible. Producers will gain practical skills and confidence to improve profitability and sustainability on-farm.”
Groups of 5–7 participants, over 12–15 months and guided by an experienced trainer undertake on-farm sessions.
